Magnetic Resonance Imaging (High Field Open MRI)

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (High Field Open MRI)

MRI uses radio waves and a strong magnetic field to provide remarkably clear and detailed pictures of internal organs and tissues. The technique has proven very valuable for the diagnosis of a broad range of conditions in all parts of the body.

With specialized equipment and expertise, MRI is more sensitive in the evaluation of internal structures that may not be as visible with other imaging methods. The images are called slices, and unlike CT, can be created in any imaging plane. On occasion a contrast material is used to enhance the surrounding structures for better visualization and to provide more accurate information about any pathology.

We take many precautions prior to an MRI scan and will review your medical history for any contraindications for entering a strong magnetic field.
